Fun Fashion Games for Kids & Girls

Creative games for children’s parties and sleepovers are a great way to keep the kids occupied with constructive, fun activities suitable to their age group. Little girls in particular tend to enjoy -girly- games such as those involving dress up games, makeup and other fashion elements. Try some of these fashion game ideas, or put your own twist on each for age-appropriate, kid-centered fun.

Toilet Paper Dress

Have each child wear a long, white T-shirt with a pair of shorts underneath. Put the kids into equal groups and have each group nominate a -model.- (The kids can take turns being the model.) Each group gets two rolls of toilet paper and are in charge of -dressing- the model in a toilet-paper dress. They should roll the toilet paper around the model’s body, securing with clear tape if needed. Give a time limit and encourage them to add accessories, such as tiaras and trains. Give out prizes for creativity and originality, but also for titles like funniest design.

Decorate the Tiara

Make paper or aluminum-foil tiaras and color each the color of the jewels it will take to complete the tiara. Hide -jewels- for the tiara around the yard or house and have the girls find them. The first girl who completes her tiara wins. This works best as an outdoor game.

Pass the Purse

Pass the Purse is a fashion game which begins by dressing up an old or inexpensive purse. Use glitter, puffy paint, iron-ons – anything to spiff it up. Fill the purse with play jewelry, candy, stickers and dollar-store lotions and sprays. Have the players form a circle. They then pass the purse on like a hot potato, being sure to pass as quickly as possible. When the music stops, the player holding the bag reaches in and pulls out a prize. That player then takes control of the music while the other girls stay in a circle. Play the game until everyone receives a prize.

Fashion Pinata

A fashion pinata is a great option for a game that requires little preparation and makes little unnecessary mess. Make or buy a pinata in the shape of a fashion or glamour accessory, such as a tube of lipstick or a handbag. Decorate a broomstick with a fashion theme using paint, stickers or stencils. Fill the pinata with stick-on jewels, lip gloss and play jewelry.
